Ingredients

  • 12.9 ounces long-grain wild rice mix (3 (4.3-ounce) boxes)
  • 3 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk

optional garnish

  • to taste chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Add all ingredients to the crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours.
  • Shred the cooked chicken and stir in the flour and milk mixture.
  • Cook for an additional 30 minutes until thickened.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
