This simple turkey gravy uses flavorful drippings or butter to create a rich, savory sauce perfect for your holiday feast.
Ingredients
Main
0.5
cup
Turkey drippings or butter
(Use 1/2 cup if using drippings; otherwise, add butter to make up the difference)
0.5
cup
All-Purpose Flour
4
cups
Chicken Broth
(or turkey or vegetable broth)
to taste
Salt and Black Pepper
(Be generous with seasoning)
Instructions
Pour juices from roasted turkey through a sieve; skim fat and reserve liquid.
Place fat or butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, and cook until golden.
Gradually whisk in the reserved liquid, simmer until thickened.
If too thick, whisk in additional broth; if too thin, add a flour-water paste and simmer.
Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
Notes
Adjust seasoning to taste and store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
