A quick and cheesy garlic bread perfect for sharing, made with just five ingredients and minimal effort.

Ingredients

Bread

  • 1 loaf rustic bread (14-16 ounces round or oval loaf)
  • 4 ounces unsalted butter (cut into tablespoons)
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 cup shredded Asiago cheese (4 ounces)

Instructions 

  • Wrap the bread in foil and prepare the garlic butter mixture by melting butter with garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Slice the loaf into 1-inch sections almost to the bottom, then turn and slice again to create squares.
  • Brush the butter mixture into the slices and fill gaps with cheese, then wrap the loaf in foil.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese melts and top is crisp.
  • Remove from oven, unwrap, and serve pull-apart chunks.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.
